Post-Debut Reflection
Our debut title, The Traitor & The Wretch has officially been out in the world for 2 weeks! We are incredibly proud of this book, and so far the response from readers has been overwhelming positive!
Want to see reader comments, fanart, creator notes, and more? Check out the #traitorandthewretch tag on social media, particularly on Bluesky! Share pictures of your books as they arrive, fanart, and any other Knell and Percy related thoughts using the tag on your platform of choice to join in on the fun.
Now, beyond the celebration, there are two things we wanted to touch on:
First and foremost, anyone who has been following us from the early days knows that we are staunchly against Amazon, and we openly stated that we would not use it. Some folks may have noticed that The Traitor & The Wretch is, in fact, listed there. We know. We made it clear to our distributor, Ingram, that we did NOT want any of our titles listed on Amazon, but were we told in very clear terms once we reached out that if we pulled the title from Amazon, it would be pulled from ALL distribution channels.
Because we already reached out to let international folks, libraries, and small bookstores know that our book was available, we can’t exactly pull the plug with orders in limbo. We are looking for alternative distributors that will allow us to de-list from Amazon, but until we find one that can meet our needs (access to libraries, independent bookstores, and international print options on a wide scale) we’re stuck with what we’ve got.
Our request to everyone is please DO NOT order our titles through Amazon. They are available through so many other venues! Support your local bookstore by ordering through them, request them from your local library, buy directly from us, or order through Bookshop.org. Thank you so much for understanding as we continue to search for alternatives.
Secondly, we’ve had some kind readers point out a few mistakes and misspellings, and we appreciate it. We are simply human, some things slip through despite our best efforts and multiple readings. Once the time comes for a second print run, we will update all of our files with a corrected version.
Thank you to everyone who has purchased this story, spread the word about our book, requested it from your library, or shared it with friends. We look forward to more people enjoying this adventure and to creating more stories to share!
